SEMH Deputy Headteacher

Location: South East London
Salary: Leadership Scale L14–L18
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

The role

You’ll be a key member of the senior leadership team with responsibility for overseeing curriculum, quality of education, safeguarding, behaviour, and strategic planning.

Working in close partnership with the Headteacher, your influence will stretch across school improvement, staff development, and the future direction of a school that values communication, independence and well-being.

Your leadership will help create an ambitious, inclusive culture where staff and students can thrive. Driving forward a curriculum that is both flexible and aspirational, and ensuring that students are fully prepared for their next steps into adulthood.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • QTS and substantial leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams, shape curriculum, and improve teaching and learning
  • Strong understanding of SEND, with experience in special or inclusive settings
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and assessment
  • Emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and the confidence to represent the school externally
