Key Responsibilities

Lead and enhance the English curriculum across all key stages

Deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons matched to individual needs and EHCP targets

Model excellent teaching practice and mentor colleagues in developing their subject expertise

Drive whole-school literacy initiatives and support communication development across subjects

Apply creative, multi-sensory and adaptive teaching methods to maximise engagement

Track pupil progress, maintain assessment systems and implement targeted interventions

Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive learning culture focused on holistic development
Requirements
-
QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

Strong subject knowledge in English

Experience within SEN, SEMH, primary, secondary or inclusive settings, or a commitment to developing this

Confidence in adapting learning for a wide range of individual needs

Ability to lead, inspire and support staff across the school

Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
