🕒 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
💷 Salary: M1 – M6 (dependent on experience)
Parker Smith Inclusion are proud to be working in partnership with a highly supportive and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Harlow. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2025, on either a temporary-to-permanent or permanent basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who have faced barriers to mainstream education. The school provides tailored support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage in a safe, structured and therapeutic learning environment.
✏️ The Role:

Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, to small classes (typically 6–10 pupils)

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons that develop literacy skills and build confidence

Working closely with teaching assistants and subject leads to meet the individual needs of each pupil

Building strong, positive relationships based on trust and consistency

Supporting pupils with behaviour using trauma-informed, nurturing approaches

For the right candidate, there is the potential to progress to Head of English, as the provision continues to grow

👤 The Ideal Candidate:

Holds QTS or QTLS (Unqualified teachers with relevant experience may also be considered)

Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching English at secondary level

Experience working with SEMH pupils or within alternative provisions is desirable
-
Confident in behaviour management, with a calm and empathetic approach
-
Committed to inclusive practice and supporting vulnerable learners to succeed

Keen to progress professionally and potentially step into subject leadership
