ICT Teacher - Septmeber 2025
School: Secondary SEMH College
Location: Croydon, London
Salary: M1 – M6 London Borough of Croydon
Hours: 40 Hours per week, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Term Time Only
The school is a specialist secondary school based in Croydon for children and young people aged 11 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH). We seek an experienced and dedicated ICT Teacher to join the team.
Job Summary:
- Providing teaching support within the framework of the National Curriculum, GCSE’s and Functional Skills.
- Committed to providing the students with the very best chance in education.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with a committed and flexible approach.
- Confident working with pupils with autism and behavioural difficulties.
- Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions
- Able to create a safe and stimulating environment for all students
Key Skills Required:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience as a science teacher delivering and planning lessons
- Confident in supporting students with autism and challenging behaviour
- Able to build meaningful and positive relationships with the students

Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience with challenging behaviour—This role would really suit someone who has worked in a PRU or SEMH school, as a Pastoral Officer in a school, or as a youth worker with experience with challenging behaviour.
Experience working to support pupils with physically and emotionally challenging behaviour
A resilient personality and an ability to build rapport quickly with staff and students.
De-escalation training would be a bonus for this role; however, the school also provides specialised de-escalation training.
An interest in mental health and seeing behaviour as a form of communication is essential for this role.e

They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for their Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) class, which consists of 6 students in Years 1, 2, and 3. This group includes some students with Autism who are non-verbal.
Main Duties:
To plan lessons and teach a class of 6 students in years 1, 2& 3 with Autism and some who are non-verbal
To be resilient, hard-working and have an understanding of mental health and teaching neurodiverse children
Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
