Are you a compassionate and skilled educator with a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential?

We are seeking an experienced Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a MS Primary School to support children with ADHD, ASC, behavioural and learning difficulties to prepare for their Year 6 SATS, they will learn through small group intervention lessons. You have to be proficient at Maths & English and will be expected to take a test upon interview.

About the Role: As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver specialised interventions to students who require additional support. Your role will focus on improving academic outcomes and promoting emotional well-being through tailored sessions in the following areas:

Mathematics and English support
Emotional regulation
Self-development
Anxiety control
Anger management

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions to support students' academic, emotional, and social needs.
Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting interventions as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate intervention strategies into the wider curriculum.
Build positive and supportive relationships with students to foster confidence and engagement.
Support students in developing resilience, self-regulation, and positive coping strategies.
Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and communicate progress to teachers, parents, and carers.

About You: To excel in this role, you will need:

Proven experience in delivering interventions in Maths, English, and emotional development.
A strong understanding of strategies to support students with anxiety, anger management, and self-regulation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to addressing students' individual needs.
A relevant qualification in education or child development is desirable but not essential.

Mainstream schools, where you will be working with a student with SEND 1:1 or in small groups ARP's (Alternative Resourced Provision) attached to a mainstream school, where the small group of children will all have a SEND diagnosis and are struggling to cope within the mainstream part of the school PRU's (Pupil Referral Unit) , where the students are unable to access mainstream education due to behavioural needs Specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) settings and outreach services, where the young people cannot access mainstream school due to a SEMH diagnosis, complex needs and trauma SEND schools, where the students will all have a SEND diagnosis and EHCP (Educational , Health and Care Plan), this may be ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) , ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) complex needs, PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) , these roles may require assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, and eating What experience do i need?
