Learning Support Assistants (LSA) & Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA)
Epping, Essex
Full-Time | Term-Time Only
£90–£130 per day (PAYE), depending on experience

A supportive and forward-thinking SEND school in Epping is seeking experienced LSAs and HLTAs to join their dedicated team. This school is committed to investing in long-term staff development and offers a wide range of training opportunities including Forest School accreditation, specialist SEND courses, apprenticeships and nationally recognised qualifications.
You will be supporting primary-aged pupils (5–11 years old) with a range of additional needs such as SEMH, ASC, ADHD and SLD, within small, highly supportive classes of around five pupils. The school’s nurturing and therapeutic ethos allows staff to build meaningful relationships while providing tailored support to help each child thrive.
A standout feature of this school is its strong commitment to outdoor learning. With an established Forest School programme, the school encourages pupils to learn, regulate and grow through nature-based activities. Staff receive training and ongoing support to confidently deliver outdoor learning sessions and embed them into daily practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality support on a 1:1 basis and within small class groups
- Assist in planning and delivering inclusive and engaging lessons
- Support emotional wellbeing, behaviour regulation and independence
- Take an active role in Forest School sessions and outdoor learning activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider school team
- HLTAs may also lead small groups or cover lessons as required
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children with SEND (SEMH, ASC, ADHD, SLD) is essential or highly desirable
- Calm, patient and nurturing, with excellent relationship-building skills
- Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- Proactive, reliable and committed to long-term professional growth
- HLTA applicants should have relevant experience or HLTA status
