About the Role

Outreach Tutor – Support Students with Autism, ADHD & SEMH Needs
Working across Richmond and Kingston boroughs | £130 per day (PAYE – term time only) | Full-time – Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm | September start

Not all classrooms have four walls…

Some students need something different. Some learn better in a quiet library than in a busy corridor. Some need to rebuild their trust in education before they can even begin to think about Maths or English.

This role is about offering consistent, tailored academic and emotional support to young people outside of traditional school settings. You’ll meet them where they are, quite literally, in homes, public learning spaces, or community locations. Every session, you’ll help them take a step forward, no matter how small.

What does an Outreach Tutor do?

Deliver one-to-one tutoring in core subjects like English and Maths
Support children aged 5–16 with Autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and SEMH needs
Travel across Richmond and Kingston boroughs to meet learners in the community
Encourage social interaction, emotional regulation and resilience through personalised learning
Build meaningful relationships with students who may not have accessed education for some time
Use a consistent, child-centred approach grounded in patience, trust, and calm structure
Collaborate with professionals involved in the young person’s care or support plan when needed

Is this you?

A graduate in Psychology, Education, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field
A calm, reliable person with strong interpersonal instincts
Comfortable working independently, managing your diary and adapting to student needs
Passionate about making education accessible for all, especially those who feel left behind
Experience working with young people in education, mental health, youth work, or care is a bonus, but not essential
Must be able to travel across Kingston and Richmond (own transport is helpful but not essential)
