About the Role

As a Primary Teacher you already know the challenges presented by educating younger minds. The journey is as much social as academic. When that journey is within a specialist SEN school, those challenges are magnified, yet the satisfaction and emotional reward from achievement are also far greater.

This school recognises that you have the greatest impact on the pupils. Your classroom is your classroom. The set up, the TA structure; all down to you. You can shape your lessons personally to fit student requirements. After all, you know best. As you grow in the role, embracing greater accountability, your influence naturally also grows.

The teaching team coming together at this exceptional school are all passionate about getting the children engaged in learning. Creating experiences and learning methods that will support them throughout their lives. Yes it is hard work, yet when you are working with colleagues who all focus on building rapport and trust amongst students as well as each other, the reward is evident.

Supporting children all through Primary and Secondary, there is a strong bond between the teaching team. TA support is plentiful and members of the Senior Leadership Team are handpicked to support in each area.

This is a purpose built SEMH school with extensive resources and a tailored environment to support the curriculum. As you arrive, a bright spacious atrium reception welcomes you. It is obvious the school has been designed to deliver an inspiring environment for both pupils and the teaching teams. The school is currently building to capacity, yet even when full, the model of very small classes will be maintained. The classes themselves are ability based, giving a greater opportunity for shared progress amongst the students.

The headteacher is focussed on supporting each member of staff with a CPD structure that keeps you learning and developing in your own role. She listens to her teams and knows what is needed when. As the school continues to build to its full potential, so will the teaching teams who are currently shaping the environment.

If you are transitioning from a mainstream environment or and ECT, the school will of course guide you through SEN training and tailoring curriculums as appropriate.

With easy access to this school in Chelmsford, including on-site parking, the commute is a breeze whichever direction you are coming from.
