KS3 and KS4 Students Taught at Primary Level
Are you a passionate primary teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
We’re working with a small, nurturing SEMH provision in Richmond, South West London, that is expanding due to increasing demand. This setting supports students in KS3 and KS4 with a primary teaching model and is the ideal opportunity for a mainstream primary teacher ready for a more rewarding and purposeful classroom experience.
This is not just a job—it’s a chance to help transform the lives of students with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH who have faced barriers in previous educational settings.
About the Role:
- Teaching KS3 and KS4 students following a primary teaching approach
- Small class sizes with a strong emphasis on relationship-building and consistent routines
- Nurture-based teaching, therapeutic support, and a no-exclusion ethos
- Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, adapted to the needs of each student
- Supported by a fantastic in-house team including Art Therapists, SaLTs, and Occupational Therapists
- Opportunities to be part of a growing provision with future internal progression available
Why Primary Teachers Should Apply:
- A chance to move away from the pressures of large mainstream classes
- Teaching children at their developmental stage, not just their chronological age
- More time to focus on holistic progress and social-emotional development
- Incredibly rewarding work – you’ll see the direct impact of your nurture and creativity
- Excellent internal training and specialist support, especially for those new to SEND
Who This Role is Perfect For:
- Qualified Teachers (QTS) with KS1 or KS2 experience
- Primary-trained ECTs looking for a unique SEND route
- Experienced mainstream teachers seeking a more meaningful and values-led environment
- Unqualified teachers or instructors with relevant SEMH/SEND teaching experience
Requirements:
- QTS is highly desirable, but not essential with the right experience
- Genuine passion and commitment to working with vulnerable learners
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and nurturing approaches
- Ability to differentiate effectively and manage complex behaviour positively
- A team player with strong communication and emotional intelligence
Why You’ll Love Working with This School:
- Clear ethos focused on inclusion, compassion and connection
- No exclusion policy – this team never gives up on their students
- Robust internal training and peer support structure
- Opportunities to grow with the school as it expands
