About the Role

PRU Behaviour Mentor
£100 - £120 PAYE

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with behavioural and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Central London that caters for students from primary to year 11 across two sites. They are seeking experienced and resilient Behaviour Mentors to join their primary site. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting young people with behavioural, social and emotional needs. If you expereince is informal, not school based or is voluntary, we encourage you to apply! 

"The students you will be supporting are unable to attend mainstream education and have been placed at the PRU for either a short-term or long-term period, with the goal of reintegrating them back into a mainstream setting where possible. They will have a range of needs, including complex behavioural challenges, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, social and environmental factors, as well as SEND such as ASC and ADHD.

PRU Behaviour Mentor Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour and SEMH.
  • Background as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Youth Worker, or Behaviour Mentor.
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with students.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND.
