Have you always been the person people turn to for patience, understanding, or encouragement?
Do you notice the small things others might miss, a change in body language, a flicker of frustration, or a quiet moment that says more than words?
If so, this could be so much more than just your first job after university.
We are working with a truly inspiring specialist school in Kingston upon Thames that supports students aged 4–19 with Autism, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a place where learning goes far beyond the classroom. You will help young people build confidence, independence, and life skills in everyday settings, such as cafes, parks, and supermarkets.
You will also play a vital role in supporting students’ wellbeing, from joining hydrotherapy sessions to providing personal care when needed. It’s hands-on, meaningful work that requires empathy, respect, and a genuine belief that every child deserves dignity and joy in their learning journey.
This role is ideal for Psychology Graduates aspiring to careers in Clinical or Educational Psychology, Teaching, Therapy, or Social Work, or for those who’ve had personal experience supporting someone with additional needs, through family, volunteering, or mentoring.
Why you will love this role:
- A warm, therapeutic school where every small achievement is celebrated
- Training and guidance from an experienced, compassionate team
- Opportunities to explore the community with students and teach real-world skills
- Access to specialist facilities, including sensory rooms and hydrotherapy pools
What we are looking for:
- A Psychology or related graduate with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEN
- Someone who’s caring, patient, resilient, and reflective
- Willingness to support with personal care and hydrotherapy sessions as part of a holistic approach to education
- A team player who believes in empathy over ego and progress over perfection
If you’re looking for a role where compassion meets purpose and where every day brings small but powerful moments of change, we would love to hear from you.
