Are you an experienced and resilient Science Teacher looking to make a real impact?
A well-established Secondary PRU in Islington is seeking a passionate and confident Science Teacher to join their dedicated team this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach and support students who are at risk of exclusion or have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.
The PRU is a trauma-informed setting, working with students with complex SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The team is committed to creating a nurturing, supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Main Duties:

Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across the secondary age range

Monitor and track student progress to inform teaching and learning strategies

Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment

Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and carers

Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Strong knowledge of the Science National Curriculum

Experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH environment is desirable

Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
-
Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
