About the Role

Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant

Barking & Dagenham
£85 - £100 per day (PAYE)

Do you ever feel like you have more to give, but your current role doesn’t allow you to make the impact you want?

Maybe you’re already supporting students with SEN or SEMH but find yourself stretched too thin, unable to give them the attention they truly need. Or perhaps you're a graduate looking to take your first step into education—hoping for a role that is meaningful, rewarding, and challenging in the best way.

This mainstream secondary school with a specialist SEN provision is offering an opportunity to make a real difference. Here, you’ll be part of a team that values understanding students rather than just managing them—helping young people build confidence, develop skills, and find their own way to learn.

Why This Role?

  • Smaller, focused group work – build strong relationships with students and tailor support to their needs.
  • Help students who struggle in a mainstream setting – guide them towards confidence and success.
  • Trauma-informed approach to behaviour – work in a setting that prioritises understanding over punishment.
  • A school that values and supports its staff – no expectation to "just get on with it."
  • More than a teaching assistant role – be a mentor, advocate, and a consistent presence for students who need it most.

Why Work with Parker Smith Inclusion?

  • Access to CPD to develop your skills and progress your career.
  • PAYE payments – no umbrella companies or hidden deductions.
  • Exclusive access to SEN and SEMH roles – ensuring the right fit for you.
  • A supportive team that understands the sector and genuinely cares about your career.
