Behaviour Mentor -– SEMH, Autism & Complex Behaviours

Inspire, Nurture and Support.

  • Kingston/Sutton and Richmond 
  • Start Date: ASAP and September 2025
  • £90 – £95 (Depending on experience) PAYE per day (paid weekly)
  • Term Time Only – Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Do you have a drive to help vulnerable children and people access education and be a force for them to develop both academically and personally?

We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join our dynamic team, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and complex behavioural challenges. Working across both 1:1 and group settings, you will play a pivotal role in helping our learners engage with education, build positive relationships, and develop key social and emotional skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
  • Ideally, a degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development or a related field (not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Resilience and adaptability in challenging situations
  • Provide consistent, nurturing 1:1 and group support tailored to the individual needs of students.

  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and families to create and review individual behaviour and support plans.

  • De-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm, constructive manner using therapeutic approaches such as MAPA, Team Teach or PRICE (if trained).

  • Facilitate small group interventions focused on social skills, emotional literacy, and resilience-building.

  • Act as a trusted adult and role model, fostering positive relationships based on respect, understanding, and clear boundaries.

  • Maintain detailed records and contribute to reviews, EHCP processes, and safeguarding procedures.
