Key Responsibilities
Support pupils who are deaf or have partial hearing loss across EYFS and Key Stages 1–2
Use British Sign Language (BSL) and visual communication strategies to bring lessons to life
Build pupils’ confidence, independence, and social skills
Work collaboratively with Teachers of the Deaf, classroom teachers, and therapists
Adapt communication so every child feels included and understood
About You
Hold BSL Level 2, or BSL Level 1 with strong practical or personal signing experience (e.g. deaf family members or experience in the Deaf community)
