Responsibilities of an SEMH Teacher:

  • Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles, providing personalised support to each student.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to devise comprehensive intervention plans.
  • Continuously monitor and assess student progress, offering timely feedback to students and their families.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Specialised training or experience in SEMH education.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of students facing SEMH challenges.

SEMH Mentor Essex SEMH September Start We are currently working with a setting in Essex who are seeking a SEMH Mentor to support their young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have SEMH needs. The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND. We support Education providers that educate children and young people who for many reasons cannot access any other formal educational settings – these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who, as a SEMH Mentor can make a positive impact.
