About the Role

Qualified SEN Teacher (QTS/QTLS), SEMH, Autism & ADHD

September 2025 | Long-Term to Permanent(Full time- Term Time)

Outer London MPS, PAYE only

Richmond

If you’re a qualified teacher who’s thinking, I want to make a bigger difference, this could be the role for you.

We’re helping a growing specialist school in the Richmond borough. It’s part of a respected trust that focuses on therapeutic education and relational practice. The school supports secondary-aged pupils with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH, all with EHCPs. The environment is calm, consistent, and supportive, but this role is challenging.

You will need strong teaching skills and a genuine ability to connect with students who may not trust easily. However, the leadership team is excellent, the ethos is strong, and the impact you will have here is both immediate and lasting.

What the role looks like:

  • Full-time classroom teacher role, secondary phase
  • Teaching a broad, adapted curriculum to small classes
  • Supported by skilled TAs and pastoral staff who know the students well
  • You will use restorative, trauma-informed approaches daily
  • There’s a strong focus on emotional safety, relationships, and belonging

Who this would suit:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS)
  • Primary, Secondary, or SEND trained
  • Someone with experience in SEMH, PRU, or specialist settings
  • ECTs are welcome, as long as you’re emotionally mature and ready for the learning curve
  • A teacher who’s values-driven and calm during challenges

What’s in it for you?

  • Part of a progressive trust with a real commitment to inclusion
  • Excellent CPD, mentoring, and ongoing training
  • Supportive, hands-on leadership who’ve been in your position
  • Long-term to permanent role, with a clear path to joining the school’s core staff team
  • PAYE daily rate matched to your experience on the Outer London MPS
  • QTS or QTLS is essential
  • Strong behaviour management based on empathy and consistency
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with complex needs
  • Ability to commute to Shepperton for a full-time, Monday to Friday role
