About the Role
SEMH Teaching Assistant
- State-of-the-art SEMH School
- Harrow, North-West London
- Full-time (Term Time Only)
- £95-£100 PAYE Per Day
- Temp to Perm Opportunity
Are you a Teaching Assistant with a strong passion for supporting young learners with behavioural difficulties? Have you got a particular interest in working in a specialist SEMH provision? Are you ready to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people with SEMH, ASD and ADHD needs? If your answer is yes, then we may have the perfect role for you!
Highlights of the role
- Work in a purpose built SEMH provision that truly supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism, and ADHD with associated learning difficulties and expressive behaviour
- Support young learners in a safe and structured environment
- Assist with behaviour management and use de-escalation strategies when needed
- Work alongside class teachers to implement tailored interventions
- Provide a nurturing and positive environment for students to develop both academically and socially
Type of candidate we are looking for
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential
- A calm and nurturing approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills to support student emotions and handle challenging situations
- Be able to work proactively alongside teachers to deliver a positive learning environment
