Year 7, Autism & Complex needs
PAYE only Payments
A new annex site within central Newham that caters for Year 7s only are actively seeking an experienced teacher for a temporary contract starting in September 2025. This site is attached to a mainstream secondary school and supports only Year 7s that have autism and complex needs, as well as struggling with the transition from primary - secondary.
Operating as a part of a trust that functions across East London, this special school boasts incredible development and training opportunities with a focus on staff retention and supporting talent. It is a fantastic environment to expand or learn new skills within a special needs environment.
As this role is cover ideally we are seeking Teachers that have experience within an SEN setting, however MS teachers with experience of SEN within their class are also welcomed.
Requirements;
- QTS or equivalent
- Special Education Degree (desirable)
- Experience within a special school setting preferred or can display strong experience with SEN children in a professional setting
- Experience with children that display SLD, ASC, SPLD
- Teach individuals or small groups of pupils within or outside the class
- Prepare lessons and resources
- Mark and assess work
- Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet individual pupil need
- Liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
- Behaviour management
