Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Salary: M1 - M6 (£186.73 - £248.88) PAYE
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-Term, and Permanent

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience supporting learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PMLD Teacher to join our specialist team and help shape the futures of our incredible pupils.

Our school is a warm, welcoming, and Outstanding special school in the heart of Kingston, dedicated to supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). We are looking for a passionate and skilled PMLD Teacher to join our growing team and help make a real difference to the lives of our exceptional pupils.

This is a nurturing and forward-thinking special school committed to providing a meaningful, person-centred education for children and young people aged 4 - 19 with complex needs, including PMLD. Our supportive staff team works collaboratively to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, communicate, and thrive in a safe and stimulating environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering a creative, highly differentiated curriculum tailored to meet the complex needs of a small class of pupils with PMLD. With access to a wide range of sensory resources and specialist support, you will help each pupil to achieve their full potential, no matter how small the steps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised and engaging lessons using sensory, therapeutic, and multi-modal approaches

  • Work closely with a team of TAs, therapists, and parents/carers to create a consistent and holistic learning experience

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, celebrating every achievement

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, respected, and valued

  • Create a calm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment using sensory and therapeutic strategies

  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing

  • Assess and celebrate every step of progress using appropriate frameworks (e.g., Engagement Model, MAPP)

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD and complex needs

  • Skilled in using AAC, sensory strategies, and personalised planning

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a passion for inclusive education

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
