The SEND school seeking SEN Teaching Assistants

This multi site special school, who are expanding in September are currently overstaffing all their sites in preparation for 10 new classes opening. This is a unique SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity for you to join an outstanding team of staff and support their new learners.

The school has 4 sites across Essex each catering for different needs, for example one of the sites caters for 25 pupils all of which are secondary students with autism, who are accessing more formal education. They also have a site where there are classes of children with PMLD (profound and multiple learning disabilities) who are accessing the engagement model. One of the sites is primary focused and for children with ASC and more behavioural needs.

The young people access therapy including SaLT, OT and rebound therapy at one of their sites. Along with opening a new school, they have recently won a grant to have other facilities such as the pool upgraded.

The SEN Teaching Assistant role

  • Working with children and young people with SEND as a SEN Teaching Assistant  (needs dependent on which site)
  • Primary SEN TA and secondary TA opportunities
  • Roles working with behavioural needs
  • Roles working with sensory and medical needs
  • Temp to perm
