About the Role
We at Parker Smith Inclusion are excited to be working with an outstanding school in Chelmsford, currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start. This role is focused on working with students who have ASD and ADHD, helping them navigate the curriculum and reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with students, helping them access the curriculum through tailored educational support.
- Provide behavioral and emotional support, promoting positive interactions and managing students' unique needs within the classroom.
- Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and providing ongoing feedback on student progress to the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Create a positive, inclusive environment where students with SEN can thrive, feel valued, and achieve their educational goals.
- Support students in building essential life skills, including communication, organization, and self-regulation.

- Location: Chelmsford
- Pay Rate: £85 to £100 per day (PAYE)

The Ideal SEMH Teacher
Therapeutic teaching approach – SEN or SEMH Teacher
QTS is a requirement for this role, the school also welcomes applications from Early Career Teachers
Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
