SEN Teaching Assistant – Make a Difference Every Day
Location: Kingston upon Thames
Salary: £85 - £95 depending on experience (PAYE)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: May Half Term and September 2025

This is an Ofsted-rated Outstanding special school, catering for pupils aged 4–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties, PMLD and Autism and a range of associated learning needs. About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a variety of complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and sensory processing challenges. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experience for every child.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils in the classroom with learning, communication, personal care, and sensory regulation

Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning and encourage independence

Help implement individual education and behaviour plans under the guidance of teaching staff

Build trusting relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues

Contribute to the positive, inclusive ethos of the school
What We’re Looking For:

A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN
-
Experience supporting individuals with autism or complex needs is desirable but not essential
-
A calm, patient, and positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
-
Willingness to learn new strategies and approaches – full training provided

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
