We here at Parker Smith are currently working with brilliant Mainstream Primary and Secondary Schools as well as wonderful, Specialist SEND School's , SEMH settings and PRU'S, that are seeking SEND Specialists to support students on a 1:1 basis or small groups.

A wonderful, specialist SEMH/ASC setting who are seeking passionate, nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant for children with a variety of needs which can include significant complex SEMH and ASC . You will receive full training throughout but relevant, prior experience is essential. This is an inspiring, therapeutic organisation with a a no exclusion policy and support the hardest to reach, high risk and most vulnerable young people. These young people have an SEMH and/or ASC diagnosis, alongside complex additional needs. They may be at considerable risk of exploitation or been exposed to extreme violence and abuse in their homes. They need someone to help. Could this be you? Experience of working with children or young people with complex SEMH as a primary diagnosis
Experience of supporting emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies/co-regulation
Ability to resolve conflicts by restorative practice
Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
Experience of working with young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties
Or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
Experience with CSE (Child sexual exploitation), CCE (Child Criminal Exploitation), Gang affiliation, County Lines
Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
Experience of working with disengaged students is essential

This is an inspiring, therapeutic organisation that works across London. They have a no exclusion policy and support the hardest to reach, high risk and most vulnerable young people. This role is supporting young people who may have been out of formal education for several years and are unable at this time to cope with learning in a classroom, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people who are new to the organisation.
These young people have an SEMH and/or ASC diagnosis, alongside complex additional needs. They may be at considerable risk of exploitation or been exposed to extreme violence and abuse in their homes. They need someone to help. Could this be you?
This organisation has a high success rate in that young people are eventually are back in full time education or employment, and on top of that thriving, able to regulate their emotions and begin to process their trauma. An example of this is a young person with previous low school attendance, multiple exclusions, PTSD, and extremely aggressive behaviour. After being assigned a specialist mentor and working together, this young person has now transitioned to a specialist school, has a 93% attendance record, is part of restorative groups helping him to process his trauma and is thriving with a bespoke curriculum.
