About the Role
Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking a motivated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding school in Epping starting immediately. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD and ADHD, ensuring they are able to access a full, enriching education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN in both 1:1 and small group settings.
- Assist with classroom activities, focusing on individual needs and adapting tasks where necessary to ensure inclusion.
- Help manage and support students’ behavioral needs, offering them the tools and strategies they need to succeed in the school environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to create and implement effective strategies for student learning and engagement.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting support plans as needed to best suit the individual needs of each child.

I am actively recruiting engaging and passionate Therapeutic Support Workers for a service that provides education to children who are unable to attend school due to complex mental health disorders and other learning needs. I am looking to recruit professional and committed Therapeutic Support Workers for their Essex site, with solid experience working with complex mental health needs and other SEND. You will possess the ability to work with the teachers at their school hub and deliver the lessons set out by them with your assistance.
The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex and co-morbid SEMH and ASC but additionally, all pupils have Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) as a common area of need. You will receive full training throughout your employment as a Therapeutic Support Worker but relevant, prior experience is essential. You will work autonomously or alongside another tutor to deliver your lessons set out by teachers at the education hub.
Therapeutic Support Worker requirements:
Experience of working with children or young people with complex SEMH as a primary diagnosis
Experience of supporting emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies/co-regulation
Ability to resolve conflicts by restorative practice
Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
Experience of working with young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties
Or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
Experience with CSE (Child sexual exploitation), CCE (Child Criminal Exploitation), Gang affiliation, County Lines
Mentoring/teaching background
Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
Experience of working with disengaged students is essential

SEMH School - Epping forest
We are looking for a SEN Teacher for a new role at a mainstream primary school based in Epping Forest. The school has a hugely diverse intake and is proud of its inclusive approach to learning, they also have a SEN provision for children who require additional support.
The school is very proud to be a flagship school for inclusion and has an incredibly diverse staff team. They take pride in their colourful displays and beautiful outdoor learning space. There is plenty of parking for drivers and is also easily accessed via public transport.
SEN Teacher
This is a new role created to meet the demand for SEN places in Hillingdon. You will teach a class of 6 children who all have the support of a 1:1 TA. Some of the children will be assisted to transition to their mainstream classes and others will remain until a space at a more specialist SEN setting is found. This is a Temp to perm role to start ASAP. Year on year more children with special and additional needs join their school due to its inclusive ethos and SEND provision, therefore this is a growing provision with room for development. All teachers must have QTS, a passion for SEN/inclusive education, and a positive and enthusiastic energy!
What would the ideal SEN Teacher look like?
Primary teaching experience, ideally EYFS but any primary will be considered
Experience of teaching MLD or SLD, even if it is in a mainstream setting with high % SEND
Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
Experienced and qualified teachers with QTS/QTLS.
A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach
Passion for teaching SEN children is essential!
NB: Although experience teaching in SEND specialist settings is beneficial I would also love to hear from teachers who are interested in taking their first steps into SEN.
