Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?

Do you have the confidence, empathy and resilience to support students with Autism, Complex Needs and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)?

The school provides a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting where students are supported holistically to succeed both in and out of the classroom, and the staff work with their pupils, offering wraparound support.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Autism, Complex Needs, SLD and sensory needs and dysregulation.
  • Use a nurturing, empathetic approach to build trusting relationships
  • Support students across the curriculum in class and in interventions
  • Help young people manage behaviour and develop coping strategies
  • Take ownership and accountability for the progress and wellbeing of your key pupils
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people with SEND or behavioural challenges
  • Confidence in supporting students within a secondary curriculum setting
  • calm, patient and emotionally resilient individual
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate situations effectively
  • A team player who is passionate about promoting positive change in young lives
  • If you are someone who is passionate about Drama or Music, perhaps you've been an actor/musician in the past, this could be a great avenue to consider, as SEND schools use practical activities such as Drama, music, and arts in their day-to-day learning.

This is a rewarding role where every day is different and every interaction matters. If you’re ready to be a consistent, caring adult for students who need it most, we’d love to hear from you.
