Are you passionate about preparing young people for adulthood? Do you thrive in a structured, nurturing environment where your work has real-life impact?
A leading SEN school in Havering is seeking an experienced and empathetic SEN Teacher to join their Post-16 department on a permanent basis from September. The role focuses on developing functional life skills, communication, and independence for learners with a range of complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
This is not just a teaching job — it’s a place where you’ll help shape futures.

-
Delivering tailored lessons centred on functional numeracy, literacy, communication, and real-world skills (e.g., budgeting, travel training).
-
Supporting young people in building their confidence, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
-
Working closely with therapists and support staff to deliver personalised, multi-disciplinary approaches.
-
Using EHCPs and individual targets to inform planning and measure progress.
You Will Need:
-
QTS/QTLS and experience working with SEND learners (Post-16 experience a bonus).
-
A calm, consistent teaching style rooted in structure and empathy.
-
A trauma-informed approach to behaviour, with an understanding of neurodiversity and mental health needs.
-
A passion for supporting transition into adulthood.
In Return You’ll Receive:
-
A permanent, secure role within a well-regarded SEN setting.
-
Access to modern SEN resources, sensory spaces, therapy rooms, and outdoor learning areas.
-
A leadership team that values wellbeing and invests in staff development.
