Therapeutic Education Teaching Assistant

About the Role

  • Full-time Therapeutic Education TA role within a specialist SEMH school
  • Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and behaviour mentors to support students’ emotional regulation and access to learning
  • Supporting young people aged 7–16 with needs such as ADHD, Autism, anxiety, trauma, and SEMH
  • Providing calm, consistent, and structured support in class and during unstructured times
  • Opportunity to implement therapeutic strategies and be part of a genuinely inclusive setting

The Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from psychology and criminology graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, and those with experience supporting vulnerable young people.

  • Background in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Criminology, or a related field
  • Experience with challenging behaviour or emotional dysregulation (in schools, youth work, or care)
  • Resilient, calm, and able to build trust with young people
  • Interest in trauma-informed and restorative practices
  • A background or interest in sport, drama, or creative arts is a bonus!
