You’ve got your degree — now what? You Don’t Need All the Answers Yet...
You’re smart, curious, great with people… but maybe still figuring out where your skills fit. If you're drawn to working with young people, interested in psychology or education, or just want a role where your energy and empathy actually matter, this could be your perfect next step.
You don’t need years of experience, just the right attitude, a warm approach, and a genuine desire to help. We’ll help with the rest.
Why this opportunity stands out
This is a warm, welcoming school in Havering with a strong track record of nurturing both their students and their support staff. You’ll join a team that values your contribution from day one and supports you to learn and grow at your own pace.
You’ll gain:
Real experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and other needs
Insight into how children learn, behave, communicate and develop
Day-to-day guidance from teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
Confidence, clarity and the experience to pursue future roles in teaching, psychology or specialist education

Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, both academically and emotionally
Helping deliver creative, inclusive lessons that suit a range of learning styles
Building relationships rooted in trust, encouragement and calm consistency
Gently supporting emotional regulation, independence, and communication

PMLD Teaching Assistant
East London
£85–£100 per day PAYE |
Full-time (term time) | Long-term opportunity
“The smallest interactions can carry the most meaning.”
In this warm, inclusive specialist school tucked away in East London, there’s a classroom where noise levels are low but connection runs deep.
The children you’ll support are all living with profound and multiple learning disabilities — many are non-verbal, use wheelchairs, and have significant sensory and medical needs. Some might communicate through eye gaze, others with facial expressions or gentle movements. It’s not the kind of classroom where you’ll be shouting over the noise — it’s one where you’ll learn to speak a new language: the language of presence, patience, and perceptiveness.
You’ll work 1:1 or in small groups, supporting a team of experienced SEN professionals — including teachers, therapists, and specialist carers - to deliver meaningful, sensory-based learning that prioritises connection and comfort over academic outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting pupils with highly individual learning and care plans.
Using tools like PECS, sensory play, switches, and visual timetables.
Assisting with personal care (toileting, feeding, hoisting — training provided).
Helping students regulate and feel safe through calm, responsive support.
Being a consistent, trusted presence in a world that may feel overwhelming for them.
What we're looking for:
Someone with emotional maturity, compassion, and a real willingness to learn.
No prior experience required, but any background in care, support work, or SEND is hugely valued.
You’ll be joining a school where staff are nurtured, not just trained. Where you’ll be supported to grow, reflect, and work as part of a team that shares your values.
If you're someone who wants to do meaningful work, the kind that stays with you, this is it.
Email your CV to Elisha at elisha@psinclusion.co.uk to apply.
