About the SEMH School Assistant Head Role

The Assistant Headteacher will play a key role in ensuring that pupils have every opportunity to enjoy school and make outstanding progress.

  • They will work in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, acting as an excellent role model for colleagues
  • Lead an area of curriculum, assessment, or teaching and learning across the whole school
  • Teaching an agreed timetable within the school
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team to monitor the quality of teaching, learning, and the curriculum
  • Fulfilling the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The ideal SEN Primary Assistant Head will have

  • QTS
  • SEN experience from either mainstream or special settings
  • Primary experience
  • Management experience
  • Safeguarding exp desirable
