Support Children and Young People to Reach Their Potential
Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH, ASC and ADHD school in Chelmsford, which is seeking permanent Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their dedicated and supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children and young people with additional needs to thrive—both academically and personally.
About the School
Set within 11 acres of beautiful grounds, the school provides a truly unique learning environment. Students regularly take part in Forest School sessions and a wide range of outdoor activities designed to build confidence, independence and teamwork.
All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school caters specifically for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD.
Classes are small, with just six students per class, supported by a Teacher, a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), ensuring each child receives tailored support in a calm and structured environment.
Your Role as an LSA
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them engage with learning and manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, HLTAs and other LSAs to deliver creative and accessible learning opportunities.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage the development of social and emotional skills.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including participating in outdoor learning and Forest School activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and trusted adult.
This is a term-time only role, working 8:30am to 3:30pm, making it ideal for those seeking a healthy work-life balance in a rewarding educational environment.
Benefits and Opportunities
The school is committed to the wellbeing and development of its staff and offers:
- Actual salary of £22,000 – £24,500 (term-time only)
- Private healthcare
- Free meals provided on site during the school day
- Weekly CPD training, supporting ongoing professional growth
- Three wellbeing days per year, in addition to regular school holidays
- Apprenticeship and degree apprenticeship pathways to support career progression into teaching or specialist roles
- On-site parking
- Opportunities for overtime during half term, if desired
