About the Role
Parker Smith Inclusion is partnering with a school to find a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team. This role involves working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and supporting students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour. We are looking for individuals who have a firm approach but understand the importance of boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent and firm support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and deliver individualised support plans.
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting students with SEN and challenging behaviour.
- A firm yet compassionate approach to behaviour management.
- Ability to establish and maintain clear boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to working term time only, with the potential for a temp-to-perm transition.
Pay Range: £90 per day

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Ideally have experience working with children and young people with Autism/ASC and complex needs, preferably in an educational or care setting
Ideally have knowledge and experience in supporting students with physical disabilities and mobility issues, including wheelchair users
May have worked as a care worker or care assistant
May have relevant qualifications and/or degrees such as Health and Social Care, Psychology, Criminology, or Nursing
Aspiring educational psychologists, therapists, or educators
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward supporting students with diverse needs

Working as a Nurture teacher requires a holistic approach, focusing on the whole child, academic development is only possible when you address the primary need first. You will work with the school's multidisciplinary therapy team, helping students find ways to do the things they need and want to do. These opportunities will suit teachers who have a passion and natural ability to engage hard to reach pupils and those with strong classroom presence. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, therapeutic, and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning to help them reach their full potential.
Requirements for Nurture Teacher:
To work as a Nurture Teacher, you will ideally hold QTS or QTLS or have relevant experience as a Teacher. Solid experience working with highly vulnerable children, pupils at risk of exploitation, gang-related issues, violent and aggressive behaviour, substance misuse, school phobic, highly disengaged pupils and anxiety disorders is beneficial but we want to hear from ALL teachers.
