About the Role

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Havering
Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-perm | Start: ASAP

"Every child’s journey is unique. Our role is to walk alongside them, not rush them ahead."

An inclusive primary school in Havering is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Autism Resource Provision – a calm, carefully designed space within a mainstream setting. This provision is more than just a classroom; it’s a safe and supportive environment where pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition can grow at their own pace.

The school focuses on steady, meaningful progress, valuing each child’s individuality and celebrating every milestone, no matter how small.

What the Role Involves:

  • Working with children aged 4–11 in a small, specialist classroom

  • Supporting communication through visuals, objects of reference, and assistive strategies

  • Encouraging independence with predictable routines and gentle, consistent guidance

  • Helping children transition smoothly between activities and environments

  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to provide joined-up support

About You:

  • Experience with autism is welcome but not essential – transferable skills from care, youth work, or community roles are equally valued

  • You’re calm, patient, and curious about understanding behaviour rather than simply managing it

  • You thrive in a structured environment where routine and predictability help children succeed

  • You’re looking for a role with meaning – more than just a paycheque

  • Above all, you’re reliable, caring, and open to learning

What the School Offers:

  • A thoughtfully built provision with sensory areas and specialist resources

  • A supportive, collaborative team who truly look out for one another

  • Leadership that invests in staff wellbeing and professional growth

  • Real pathways into teaching and specialist SEND careers
