About the Role

HLTA – SEND Specialist – Mainstream Primary (Barking & Dagenham)

Location: Barking & Dagenham (Mainstream Primary)
Pay: £120–£130 per day (PAYE only)
Temp-to-perm pathway after 24 weeks

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong focus on SEND. You’ll be working across the school, supporting children with a wide range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional challenges.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you’ll both deliver targeted interventions and cover lessons, while helping pupils achieve their full potential.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting

  • Confidence in leading small groups, delivering interventions, and adapting activities

  • Ability to step in for class cover when needed

  • Strong understanding of strategies for autism, communication needs, and emotional regulation

  • HLTA qualification (desirable but not essential)
