This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to make a real difference in the lives of students who are unable to access mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges. Based in East London, this Pupil Referral Unit is seeking a Maths Teacher  for their KS3 & KS4 students who thrives in a challenging yet rewarding environment. You will join a committed and skilled team that shares a common goal of empowering young people to flourish, develop independence, and lead fulfilling lives.

About the Pupil Referral Unit

The PRU provides alternative education for students in KS3 - KS4 who are unable to access mainstream education. As a Teacher working at the PRU, you will benefit from smaller class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio, allowing for tailored learning, focusing on helping students achieve essential qualifications. The PRU has experienced and dedicated SEN specialist teachers, behaviour mentors, therapists and other professionals that you will be working alongside.

The Ideal Teacher for this role

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge of maths
  • Has experience working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs
  • Bring a calm, patient and resilient approach 
  • Committed to a trauma-informed and person-centred approach 
  • Excellent behaviour management skills

Early Years Teaching Assistant Hackney Full time September 25 start £90 - £95 PAYE Do you want to be part of an outstanding primary school based in the heart of Hackney? Would you want to gain more experience working with early years children that have special needs? Are you a energetic, engaging person that enjoys activity based learning? I am supporting a large primary school in Hackney that have a nursery base within their school, for September 25 they will have more admissions meaning they will require support within the early years classroom. A typical day within this class will be working with children age 4 - 6 that could be non-verbal, have global delay, learning difficulties and autism, you will be working closely to build trust and rapport with these students teaching them the early life skills they need to thrive within their education, preparing them for primary school. You will be taking part in a lot of activity based learning, using sensory toys, bucket time, phonics and being creative to keep all children engaged in their day-day learning.
