Occupational Therapist – Specialist Further Education (SEN / Complex Needs)
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Position: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: £42,741 to £51,482 depending on experience
Hours: 36 per week, Term Time plus 2 Weeks

Our students aged 19 to 25 come with a wide range of additional needs including autism, PMLD, SLD, physical disabilities and sensory processing differences. With a brand-new purpose-built site opening soon, we are expanding our therapy team and looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping young adults thrive
The Role
As part of our supportive multidisciplinary team you will
- Carry out high-quality OT assessments and deliver meaningful interventions tailored to each student
- Support development across sensory integration, motor skills, functional skills and daily living
- Design personalised therapy plans that enable students to participate fully in college life and beyond
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals
- Contribute to the growth of our therapy pathways and whole-college strategies
- Play a key role as we move into our new main site shaping how therapy supports our students' journeys
This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys thinking creatively, collaborating widely, and working holistically with young adults in a specialist SEND environment

About You
You are likely a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration and at least two years’ experience in SEN, paediatrics or a specialist college setting. You are confident working with students with autism, PMLD, SLD, sensory challenges and physical disabilities. You have strong skills in assessment, planning, intervention and tracking progress. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team and you are patient, reflective, organised and deeply committed to high-quality practice. Most importantly, you believe that with the right support every young adult can grow, engage and flourish
