About the Role

Make a Positive Impact on Young Lives in Essex!

Are you passionate about working with young people and making a difference in their lives? Do you have a talent for connecting with students and helping them overcome challenges? If so, we encourage you to apply for the exciting role of Lead Behaviour Mentor within our innovative outreach program.

Based in Harlow and covering the Essex region, you will play a vital role in supporting secondary school students who require additional guidance and mentorship.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Build positive relationships: Establish trusting relationships with students, acting as a role model and advocate for their well-being.
  • Provide guidance and support: Help students develop positive behavior strategies and coping mechanisms to navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges.
  • Facilitate engaging activities: Lead group activities and outings designed to build confidence, teamwork, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with school staff: Work closely with teachers and school personnel to create individualized support plans for students.
  • Mentor a Team: Guide and support other Engagement Mentors in providing effective student support.
  • Travel across Essex: Transport students to activities and potentially to and from their homes in various parts of Essex.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people: A background in youth work, education, or a related field is desired.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds and build positive relationships is crucial.
  • Energy and enthusiasm: This role requires someone who is energetic, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.
  • Mentoring skills: Proven ability to guide and support young people in their personal and academic development.
  • Flexibility: Must be comfortable working flexible hours, including some evenings and potential weekends.
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential: The role involves transporting students across Essex.
