Outreach Learning Mentor – Therapeutic Support for Young People Location: Barking and Dagenham Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm Are you passionate about supporting young people who need someone in their corner? We’re recruiting an Outreach Learning Mentor on behalf of an exceptional therapeutic organisation working across London. This team is dedicated to supporting vulnerable and high-risk young people through a nurturing, no-exclusion approach. In this role, you’ll engage with young people who have been out of education for long periods and may not yet be ready to return to a mainstream setting. Over the course of two terms, you will guide them through a structured programme of induction, assessment, and transition—providing the consistency and therapeutic support they need to take their next steps with confidence. The young people you’ll work with often have SEMH or ASC needs, as well as additional challenges linked to trauma, exploitation, or adverse experiences. Your job will be to build meaningful relationships, support emotional regulation, and offer interventions that empower them to move forward at their own pace. This role offers an excellent opportunity to step into a well-supported SEND department with strong structures already in place. The Role We are looking for a SENDCo who can provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for SEND provision across the school.
