Are you a dedicated and empathetic teacher looking for a role where you can make a lasting difference?

Do you believe that emotional wellbeing is just as important as academic progress? Would you thrive in an environment that values therapeutic approaches and whole-child development?

If so, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

🏫 Welcome to a School That Feels Different

We’re excited to offer a rare opportunity to join a brand-new specialist SEMH primary school in Chelmsford, designed specifically for children who have experienced trauma, adversity, and disrupted education. This isn’t just a teaching role—it’s a chance to be part of a school built on compassion, understanding, and a belief in second chances.

Part of a highly respected and growing Trust, the school provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where therapeutic support is woven into every aspect of school life. From mindfulness and movement to nutritious meals and therapy animals, everything is carefully planned to support each child’s social, emotional, and academic journey.

You’ll join a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and support staff who work together with one shared goal: to help children rebuild their confidence, trust, and ability to learn.

🎒 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teaching a small group of primary-aged pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs

  • Creating a trauma-informed classroom environment that is predictable, calm, and supportive

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists to develop and implement individualised education plans

  • Using creative and therapeutic approaches to engage pupils and build strong, trusting relationships

  • Promoting emotional literacy, resilience, and life skills alongside academic progress

  • Actively contributing to a school culture that values every child and every small success

🌟 What You’ll Receive in Return

  • A supportive and values-driven team where your wellbeing matters just as much as your performance

  • A delicious daily lunch cooked on-site by professional chefs—wholesome and included!

  • Your own Apple MacBook for lesson planning, classroom delivery, and personal use

  • Access to therapy dogs, art therapy, and other on-site therapeutic services

  • Optional staff therapy and wellbeing sessions to help you reflect and recharge

  • Extensive CPD and genuine career progression opportunities within a growing Trust

  • A school where you’re seen as a person first—and a professional second

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTSL or equivalent)

  • Teachers from either mainstream or SEND backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference

  • Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) are welcome and will be fully supported

  • Individuals who are empathetic, resilient, and open to new ways of thinking

  • Teachers who believe in nurturing the whole child—not just teaching the curriculum
