Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a specialist SEMH school in Chelmsford who educate some of the most vulnerable young people in society About the school The service caters to young people who have severe and complex social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and some with a dual diagnosis of autism (ASC) The young people may have also suffered severe trauma and adverse childhood experiences. The school team is made up of social workers, teachers, and support staff. About the Teaching Assistant role As a Teaching Assistant you will support young people both in full class and 1:1 settings. You will help to deliver classroom lessons, and related educational activities. You will act as a learning mentor and appropriate adult for young people in the school setting offering them emotional support and educational guidance. You will get the opportunity to have lots of specialist training around supporting young people with SEMH and ASC and other additional special educational needs. Why be a Teaching Assistant? SEMH Learning Mentor £90 - £110 per day PAYE Chelmsford Immediate Start Available I am now working with a fantastic and supportive Special School in the Chelmsford who are seeking a resilient and reliable SEMH Learning Mentor. You will be working to support pupils who need support with challenging behaviour, and help feeling as calm and settled as possible so they are able to learn effectively. Pupils within this school have Autism and some may experienced trauma so it is essential that they are supported by SEMH Learning Mentors who are highly consistent and reliable. This role requires a strong and resilient person who would be an excellent role model.
