About the Role
Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Enfield
Pay: £100 – £115 per day PAYE
Are you passionate about supporting young people who struggle to access mainstream education due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
About the School
We are working with a specialist SEMH school in North London, set within a modern, purpose-built environment designed to support both staff and students. The school caters to young people from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, using a trauma-informed approach to ensure every student receives the support they need.
They are currently seeking an experienced Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant to work at their secondary site. This student presents some of the most challenging behaviour in the school, so the successful candidate must have strong experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs. This can come from either a professional or personal background.
About the Role:

Supporting students with SEMH needs, encouraging engagement in learning

Providing 2:1 support for a Key Stage 3 student with challenging behaviour

Promoting positive behaviour strategies and supporting emotional regulation

Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

If you have a background in sports, your skills will be highly valued in this role!
Requirements:

Experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, Autism, trauma, sensory processing, or social communication difficulties

Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to be a positive role model

Effective behaviour management strategies

Patience, resilience, and empathy

A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH
