SEMH Teaching Assistant 

Croydon - September 2025 Start

Up to £120 per day PAYE- dependent on experience 

 

Can you be a role model to a young person with SEMH?

 

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work with a young person within an SEMH specialist setting for students who for many reasons, are unable to access mainstream education. You must be a calm and nurturing person and be experienced in supporting students with SEMH needs as well as anxiety and emotional dysregulation.

Requirements

● Experience working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication

● Secondary Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience

● Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

● A passion for working with SEND is essential

● Excellent experience and training for aspiring Teachers, Pastoral workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers
