PERM Position
As a Primary Teacher, you already understand the challenges involved in educating young minds. The journey is as much social as it is academic. When that journey takes place within a specialist SEN school, those challenges can be amplified—yet the sense of fulfilment and emotional reward from pupils’ achievements are even greater.
This school recognises that you are the greatest influence on your pupils. Your classroom is your own—its set-up, structure and teaching assistant support are all down to you. You have the freedom to tailor your lessons to suit your pupils’ individual needs, because you know them best. As you grow in the role and embrace greater responsibility, your influence naturally grows too.
The teaching team coming together at this exceptional school are all passionate about engaging children in learning—creating experiences and approaches that support them throughout their lives. It is hard work, but when you’re surrounded by colleagues who value collaboration, trust and rapport—both with pupils and each other—the rewards are clear to see.
Supporting children across both the Primary and Secondary phases, the teaching team share a strong bond. There is excellent TA support, and members of the Senior Leadership Team are carefully chosen to provide guidance across all areas.
This purpose-built SEMH school offers extensive resources and a bespoke environment designed to enhance the curriculum. As you enter, a bright and spacious atrium reception greets you, immediately reflecting the school’s inspiring design for both pupils and staff. Although the school is still building towards full capacity, small class sizes will always remain a core part of its model. Classes are grouped by ability, creating greater opportunities for shared progress among pupils.
The Headteacher is deeply committed to supporting every member of staff, with a structured CPD programme designed to help you grow and develop within your role. She listens to her teams and understands what’s needed and when. As the school continues to expand and reach its full potential, so too will the teaching teams who are currently helping to shape its culture.
If you’re transitioning from a mainstream setting, or are an ECT, the school will guide you through SEN training and curriculum adaptation to ensure you feel fully supported.
Located in Chelmsford, the school is easily accessible, with on-site parking making the commute straightforward from any direction.
