Are you a compassionate, reliable individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people and help prepare them for adulthood?
A specialist school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. The school caters for students aged between 14 - 16 years with a range of SEND including, MLD, ASC, Speech and language communication needs, SEMH and Cognitive and Learning needs. The school curriculum focus is the core subjects and, creative and personal development in Art, Music, Drama, PE, PSHEE and Life & Work. Students also go to a weekly college placement, and will have independent travel training to help support independence and life skills.
Professional and personal experience is welcome but not essential, full training will be provided. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.
What the role involves:
- Supporting students with additional needs in the classroom, during activities and in a weekly college placement
- Providing tailored assistance based on individual learning plans
- Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
- Delivering personal care in some cases (training provided)
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone with a genuine interest in supporting young people with SEND
- A calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
- Experience in a school, care, or youth work setting is beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable with personal care (training provided)
