About the Role
SEND Teaching Assistant
Mainstream Secondary School – North London
Temporary to Permanent Opportunity
We are working with a friendly and well-supported mainstream secondary school in North London that is seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school places pupil progress and wellbeing at the centre of everything they do, with a strong SEND department supporting students with a range of needs including EHCPs, SEMH, Autism, dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
The Role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the school.

Supporting students with diverse SEND needs in lessons and during unstructured times.

Contributing to personalised learning plans and targeted interventions.

Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals to monitor and support pupil progress.

Supporting positive behaviour strategies and helping to nurture students’ social and emotional development.

Engaging in ongoing training and CPD to further develop your SEND expertise

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (e.g., Autism, SEMH, dyslexia, or other learning needs).

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

Confidence working independently as well as part of a supportive team.
