About the Role
SENDCo (Part time 3 days, full time considered)
Salary: MPS6 - UPS3
Start: January 2026 preferred, Havering
Initial 1 to 2 term contract with potential for permanent contract
Make your mark in an ambitious, inclusive, and supportive primary school in Havering as their new SENDCo. A school where SEND provision is respected, supported, and central to everything they do. Systems are strong, the team is dedicated and the leadership understands what a SENDCo needs to thrive.
This is a largely non teaching role, giving you the time and space to focus on what matters: strategic direction, high quality provision and meaningful support for children and families. Three days per week is the current structure, but four or five days will be considered for the right candidate. There are no regular class teaching responsibilities, though you may provide occasional one to one or small group support. With a capable SENDCo Assistant working alongside you, you can concentrate on strategic leadership, knowing the day-to-day provision is in expert hands.
The pupil cohort is diverse, the team of support staff is well established, and the SEND systems are strong. Staff collaborate with one another, keeping the children at the heart of every decision, within a culture that is both supportive and purposeful.
Whether you are a qualified SENDCo, working towards the qualification or an experienced SEND practitioner ready to step up, the school is open minded and focused on finding the right person. Key qualities include strong organisation, clear communication, confidence in supporting a range of needs and a calm, child centred approach.
Salary is competitive and reflective of experience and qualifications, with candidates considered on MPS6 to UPS3.
This is a chance to step into a school that values you, a supportive team and dedicated resources, and a role where you can make a real difference and the potential to grow into a permanent position.
If you are looking for a SENDCo role where you can lead with clarity, compassion and confidence, we would love to hear from you.
