We here at Parker Smith are working with a wonderful SEN school in the Southend that are now looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September. This school is small with around 150 students aged between 4-19 and has a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, they support all of their stuff brilliantly and are passionate about students and staff wellbeing. The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant is to support students both in and out of the classroom. You should be encouraging, inspiring and be a positive role model. Working in SEN can bring with it some challenging behaviour, therefore, it is important that the successful SEN Teaching Assistant is resilient and understanding as to why these challenges may occur. It is also important that the successful SEN Teaching Assistant is comfortable with personal care. Some students will require assistance with toileting and changing.
