Position: Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young students? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team, working across two schools in Chelmsford, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and trauma.
About the Role:
In this role, you will provide vital speech and language therapy services to students in both a primary and secondary therapeutic school setting. Your work will focus on supporting children and adolescents who face a variety of communication challenges due to SEMH and trauma. By working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other specialists, you will help create a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify students’ speech, language, and communication needs.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student’s needs.
Provide direct therapy sessions, both one-on-one and in group settings.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
Offer training and support to school staff to enhance their ability to support students’ communication needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with SEMH and trauma.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with speech and language difficulties.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
