English Teacher
Redbridge
North East London
MPS to UPS
Are you frustrated with class sizes of 30 children?
Do you feel like you can't be creative with the curriculum working in mainstream?
Have you ever considered teaching within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)?
PRU's are specialist provisions that provide education for students who are unable to access mainstream settings, they have a dedicated team that focus on the unique needs of each child, providing tailored lessons that help them succeed.
PRU's are not just a place for students to be educated but also feel nurtured and safe. The students may feel let down by the education system and as the trust builds so does the chance for progression in learning.
PRU's prioritise emotional well-being, offering a safe space for students to grow, learn, and build confidence. The smaller class sizes allow for strong meaningful relationships to develop between students and staff , and allow for all students to feel heard and supported.
PRU's provide a bespoke curriculum catering to each students needs, this helps to engage students and encourage them to develop a love for learning.
PRU's understand behaviour and focus on not just managing the behaviour but understanding why it occurs. Using a therapeutic and trauma informed approach, and helping student to re-regulate and discuss the frustrations they are feeling without judgement.
If a PRU feels like somewhere you can thrive in your career, or if you would like to discuss other opportunities in alternative settings, please contact me on 02030114848 and ask to speak to Faye, or email me on faye@psinclusion.co.uk and we can discuss how I can help you.

SEMH Teacher
Hillingdon
North West London
£36,413 - £48,532 per annum, in line with MPS Outer London
SEMH Teacher - Permanent – September Start
Hillingdon, West London / Middlesex
Salary: £36,413 - £48,532, in line with MPS Outer London
We are proud to be supporting an SEMH School based in the Hillingdon area that has a trauma-informed approach to education, creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where students from diverse and complex backgrounds can flourish. This school celebrates cultural diversity and values the unique experiences each student brings. Through personalised learning and therapeutic support, they empower young people to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve their full potential.
If you are committed to making a lasting impact and want to be part of a forward-thinking team that prioritises wellbeing, empathy, and growth, we’d love to hear from you
The school are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower students who face significant barriers to learning, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.
For many students, school has been a place of frustration, anxiety, or even failure. Your role as an SEMH Teacher will change that. You'll create a space where children feel safe, understood, and ready to engage in learning — often for the first time in years.
This isn't about following a rigid curriculum. It’s about meeting students where they are and guiding them forward at their own pace. Some days, that might mean working through emotions before tackling a maths lesson. Other days, it’s celebrating a small but significant breakthrough—a child staying in class for the full session, taking part in group activities, or expressing how they feel.
Responsibilities of this role
Planning and Delivery: Create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH and associated learning difficulties.
Trauma-Informed Practice: Use trauma-aware strategies to promote emotional regulation and build trusting relationships.
Pastoral Support: Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students’ emotional and social development.
Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
Assessment and Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Safeguarding: Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Who They’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching students with SEMH needs, SEND, or behavioural challenges.
A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning.
A commitment to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and equality in the classroom
If you’re looking for a teaching role where you can genuinely change lives, this could be it. Be part of this school’s next chapter as they grow in September.
