In this Autism Specialist role, you would encounter various students with Autism / ASC and various learning difficulties. You would be required to work alongside a team of Speech and Language Therapists and Art Therapists. This position best suits someone with experience supporting children and young people in 121 settings. You would have primary responsibility of one pupil; however, there would be a requirement to assist across other classes if needed. What to expect in the role and what is expected of you: Integrating the creative arts into the curriculum such as music, art, drama and dance You will participate in a wide range of activities to promote the pupils' cognitive, cultural, social, physical, and emotional well-being. You must work alongside the teacher to create a plan and deliver learning activities You must monitor how the children are developing and set targets for them to reach Work alongside different professionals, including nurses, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Langauge Therapists. You will have to interact with the children through the use of play-based and sensory-related activities.
