Where Creativity Meets Purpose

There’s a place in leafy Wandsworth where creativity and curiosity are nurtured every single day. It’s not your typical school. Here, education is personalised, learning is hands-on, and every young person is celebrated for who they are. We’re a small, specialist setting for neurodivergent pupils aged 9 to 16, and we’re looking for a Design & Technology teacher who sees the world a little differently—someone who believes that education can be transformative when it speaks to a child’s strengths, passions, and potential.

Our pupils are bright, inquisitive, and full of ideas. They often think in 3D, question everything, and have the potential to become brilliant problem-solvers, designers, makers, and engineers. What they need is a teacher who can help unlock that potential—someone who can provide structure while embracing flexibility, scaffold skills while nurturing independence, and see every small step as a major victory.

This is where you come in.

You’ll take the lead on developing and delivering a Design & Technology curriculum that is imaginative, meaningful, and responsive to individual needs. Our facilities are well-resourced, our class sizes are small, and our staff team is experienced and collaborative. You’ll be free to shape learning in a way that works—for you and your pupils. Whether it’s woodworking, electronics, textiles, or product design, we’re open to your vision and value innovation.

But what sets this role apart isn’t just the subject but the setting. In our school, teaching is relational. You’ll get to know every pupil, every spark of interest, every barrier to learning. You’ll work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to create joined-up support. You’ll be part of a team that listens deeply, reflects often, and celebrates loudly.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified DT teacher with experience (or a keen interest) in working with pupils with SEND
  • Brings a creative, flexible approach to curriculum design and delivery
  • Understands that learning isn’t linear—and is patient, calm, and encouraging
  • Can foster a safe and purposeful environment in a practical classroom
  • Sees the potential in every child, even on the hardest of days

In return, you’ll find:

  • A genuine sense of community, where your voice is heard, and your work is valued
  • Time and space to teach well, reflect often and grow professionally
  • Ongoing CPD, including training specific to neurodivergent needs and inclusive practice
  • A calm, spacious site with excellent resources for practical and creative learning
  • Pupils who will challenge, inspire, surprise and delight you—every single day

This isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to be part of something meaningful. To teach in a place where relationships come first, creativity is encouraged, and difference is not just accepted—it’s celebrated.

We'd love to hear your story if you’re ready to teach with purpose, passion and pride. Let’s build something extraordinary together.

Nurture Teacher - QTS

Mole Valley
Surrey
£170 - £232 PAYE per day
Nurture Teacher – KS3 SEMH | September 2025 Start Location: Mole Valley, Surrey | Contract: Long-Term to Permanent Salary: £170 - £232 PAYE per day, in line with £33,075 - £45,307 MPS Fringe You became a teacher to change lives. This is the kind of role where that actually happens. You are not juggling 30 pupils in this role. You are not being pulled in ten directions with no time to breathe. Instead, you are working with a small group of KS3 students who have faced more than their fair share of disruption, often shaped by diagnoses like Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. They now need someone calm, creative and consistent, someone who sees the person before the pupil. That someone could be you. Why this school? Why now? This isn’t a setting where you’ll be left to sink or swim. It’s a close-knit, supportive team who deeply believe in second chances. The students are grouped thoughtfully, supported by trained LSAs, and benefit from an embedded therapeutic approach that values emotional development as much as academic growth. And unlike some SEMH settings, you will be genuinely teaching here. Your role in a nutshell: Lead a KS3 ‘Nurture and Development’ class of around 6-8 students Deliver creative, differentiated lessons across core subjects, with flexibility built in Embed emotional literacy, self-regulation, and trust into your daily practice Collaborate with therapists, behaviour leads, and SLTs who are as invested as you are Help young people rebuild their confidence, rediscover learning, and move forward What we are looking for and what you will bring: QTS: either Primary-trained or cross-phase with experience at KS2/KS3 Real experience supporting children with SEMH, Autism and/or complex behaviour Confidence with behaviour that challenges and the reflective mindset to handle it A gentle authority, a sense of humour, and a deeply human approach to teaching Bonus points if you’ve worked in specialist provisions, PRUs or APs, but we’re open to mainstream teachers ready to make the leap What you’ll get in return: Small class sizes where you can genuinely connect and see progress A team that values wellbeing and doesn’t shy away from the hard stuff Long-term to permanent opportunity on PAYE, no umbrella, no hidden deductions Daily rate of £170 to £1232 PAYE, salary matched to MPS Fringe (£33,075 - £45,307) Ongoing CPD and development in trauma-informed practice, behaviour support, and specialist SEN This is the role for someone who’s still passionate about teaching, but wants it to count.
